Abstract

{ABSTRACT} This article addresses the moral and ethical imperatives for the religious community to be proactive in addressing the architectural, attitudinal, and communication barriers confronting people with disabilities. The author calls for the eager and forthright application of the provisions and spirit of inclusion embraced in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 as a standard of practice for religious communities, and she posits that all persons are bearers of God's image and giace and equal partners in God's covenantal community.
